Open any design in Canva, then open the Wrap Text app from the Apps panel. Select an image on your canvas, type or paste your text into the Wrap Text panel, adjust your settings (font, size, alignment, gap), and click Apply. The text will wrap around your image's silhouette automatically.
Wrap Text works with any image that has a transparent background (PNG with alpha channel). This includes stickers, clipart, cutout photos, logos, and illustrations. The app detects the silhouette by reading the image's transparency, so images with solid rectangular backgrounds won't produce a visible wrapping effect.
Yes. Wrap Text places native Canva text elements, not flattened images. You can click on any placed text element and edit it directly in Canva, change its color, resize it, or move it around. However, if you change the font or size after placement, the text will no longer match the calculated wrap layout.
Yes, completely free. There are no payments, no premium tiers, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases. Wrap Text works with any Canva account, whether free or Pro.
No. Wrap Text runs entirely in your browser within Canva's sandbox. We do not collect any personal data, usage data, cookies, or analytics. See our Privacy Policy for details.
This usually happens when the image has a solid (opaque) background rather than a transparent one. Wrap Text detects the image shape using transparency (alpha channel). Try using a PNG with a transparent background, or use Canva's background remover tool on your image first.
The gap controls the distance between the text and the image silhouette. A larger gap pushes the text further from the image edge, giving it more breathing room. A smaller gap makes the text hug the shape more closely.
Yes. After Wrap Text places the text elements, you can use Canva's built-in Undo (Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z) to remove them. You can also select and delete individual text elements manually.
Wrap Text works within Canva's app framework. It is primarily designed for the desktop Canva editor. Mobile support depends on Canva's handling of third-party apps on mobile devices.
